Despite what I said on Sunday morning, I’m not sure I am as happy to see the sun as I thought. It’s really almost too hot now. In fact, it’s not the heat, it’s the heat with the humidity; it was hotter in Granada and I’m sure I coped with it better there. Of course, I didn’t have to get the tube or the train in Granada… I wish I could be at home in this weather though. No tiring …
Month: July 2008
It was St Neots regatta yesterday and I was racing in a WS2 8+. I thought it was my first race in an 8+ but it seems I had forgotten about Wallingford in May . There was only one other crew entered though so it turned out to be a straight final against Barnes Bridge Ladies just before 5pm. It was nice not to have to get up at stupid o’clock to get there for a race! Sam and his …
I am working from home today. I started working at 7.30 am and had a lunch break between 12 and 1.15 pm. Now, as I have just passed the 4 pm mark, my concentration is really going. How on earth did I concentrate so much at University? Was I disillusioned then, thinking I was working when in fact I spent time just staring out the window? Come to think of, I do remember doing a lot of ‘people crossing the …
That is the sounds of the pneumatic drill which has been running all day outside my window at work. It’s driving me mad! It’s okay when I’m chatting or actively doing something, but the moment I try and think that is all that fills my head. Even my iPod isn’t blocking it out. Although I am listening to some very good tunes! It’s a play list I made myself called ’22 June 2008′, full of top tunes, new and old! …
I was on a course called ‘Coaching Skills’ last week for two days. It was one of those courses that makes you evaluate your life, or at least aspects of it. However, for a change this one was actually useful. Most courses I go on with work are interesting at the time but you can never fully see how you will apply the theory to every day life. Of course, I haven’t yet been back to work yet to know …
I knew I should have had that really unhealthy chocolate biscuit cake at cake time …
I have just spent 5 minutes writing a long, heart-felt blog entry, only for my session to time out. Damn it! I shall have to increase my session time at some point because I have clearly set it to some stupidly low number. St Mary’s Univerity College are graduating at Westminster Cathdral and I can see them all out of the window from my desk. It got me reminiscing about my graduation – 4 years ago now! Time has really …
…how on earth did I end up at this point? I’m so stressed at work. I always vowed I would never let work stress me this much and yet I seem to leave every day with near on a migrane. I swear I’m verging on hating my job right now. I can’t believe I have ended up here. I think tonight is definitely an evening for a glass of wine and a bath …
The new look website has finally arrived! After a couple of weeks of occasional hard-labour on it, the front components were finally completed yesterday afternoon and I was just itching to get it live. There are, of course, a few little bugs but other than that I’m really pleased with the new look and feel. Hope anyone else viewing enjoys it. Other than that it was a mildly uneventful weekend. On Saturday I had training as per usual, although this …
