Boooooo, the weekend is almost over. On a positive note, my cold has almost gone an has not hindered the weekend too much. We had a fun evening at our friend Gigi’s. We played some insane rabbit game on the Wii and ate lots of snacks including these cool Finnish chocs that her friends who were staying had bought (mint on the outside, chocolate on the inside). Jam packed week ahead so supper and bed for me – nighty-night.

Yesterday I felt really quite awful thanks to this rotten cold I seemed to have acquired. However, we were very diligent last night and I was tucked-up by 10:15. Sam was a little slower (reading his book) but I am getting much better as sleeping with the light on now so I didn’t really care! We were also exceptionally good last night because we didn’t go on our phones or laptops from tea-time onwards. This may sound like a silly

Okay, the cold has arrived! I am feeling truely bunged up. Damn it! I hate trying to work when it feels like your head is in a vice. I have taken a trusty sudofed though which has eased. The train was stifling today and everyone was sat in their coats. I had to remove my jacket and my jumper! Then the tube was stuffy too, although I was having a little bop for most of the journey because one of

I think everyone must have a limit at which they go in to ‘self-preservation’ mode. I have been feeling more and more drained by everything recently, with so much to do. Today, again, I am feeling really run-down and I think I am actually fighting a cold this time. Lots of people in the office have it so I really wouldn’t be surprised. Anyway, my usual approach to handling illness alongside training is to, err, just carry on training. On

I very much enjoyed my quad-action last night with Katie, Lou and Bex. The river was all misty too so looked beautiful. Sadly it was also FREEZING!!! We were doing some pairs work under Matt’s 5-star tuition but after Katie & Bex had been rowing for 5 mins, Lou and I were just desperate to row again to stop the shivering. I am feeling very cold-y this morning as a result. My winter coat has made it’s first appearance of

I cannot believe it is only Monday; it feels like at least Wednesday. The feeling seemed spread through re team actually – everyone was very lethargic or tired and a lot of people were plugged in to their music from quite early in to the day! Hopefully training tonight will perk me up a bit. I have a scheduled ‘chill’ evening on Wednesday where I can switch off. No computer based activities or training will be taking place. If all

I just had a really annoying PHP error on my blog index page.  It used to work with the line: $tagarray[$counter] = trim($tagarray[$counter]); However that suddenly stopped working.  But when I replaced $tagarray with $tagArrayTEMP: $tagarrayTEMP[$counter] = trim($tagarray[$counter]); it started working again.  Why???!

Brrr, it’s very cold this morning. I had to walk to the station today and I practically froze my ears off. It’s 1 degree according to my weather app… Of course the train was typically late today (was getting a later train too so extra annoying). When it arrived, everyone sat down and just stayed sitting in their scarves and coats. Do they not know they should take them off so they feel the benefit when they get off the

Just on my way home after my second consecutive late Tuesday of working. We have been running some live load tests and they generally went very well. We have found an area of weakness but once I saw it, I wasn’t surprised. Anyway, I am feeling much better overall than last week. I don’t think I was drinking enough water at work last week which, when I stayed later, ended badly. Hopefully I won’t see a detrimental result on my

I meant to blog yesterday-it was on my to-do list but, as usual, it was neglected! In my own defence (even though I am the main one who is bothered by the lack of new content on my own website!) I had to make a choice between blogging or writing some new shorties for Sam (see Revado). If I had written him some, he would have grumbled at me even more. By not writing my blog it was just an
