So, I raced yesterday. It went quite well, especially considering the massive gap since my last race! I was zonked when I got home but I then had to log on and work at 6:30pm. My tests were done by 7:10pm but there were some issues so I ended-up logged on until 9pm waiting around on people mostly before some last minute work at 8:30pm. This morning I had to be in the office for 7:30am because we were going …
Month: February 2011
I am racing tomorrow – almost all ready, just got to sort out the food but will do that in a bit. Been doing admin on my computer – seem to waste half of my life doing that! I used some of my callout money to by a new camera today – it’s a bridge camera, one of those mini-SLR types. I haven’t read the manual properly yet but I have had a play and it’s awesome so far. Going …
What a busy week! I feel like it’s been non-stop. Monday: work & rowing; Tuesday: work, training, on call &rowing admin; Wednesday: away to Odney with work (Chinese, wine & meeting new team); Thursday: team building day, travelling home, emergency on-call to cover JJ; Friday: work, dinner, chill with film! The overnight visit to Odney was good. It was great to start getting involved with my new project and meeting the (very large) team of people. I am really raring …
It’s Monday again! But this week I am not feeling as tired as the last, which is good. I had one of those glorious moments this morning where I woke-up as then discovered I still had 45mins left until the 6am alarm. It would have been nicer if it were 90mins, but I’ll take what I can get! Blackbird was wide awake when we got up this morning and he provided the soundtrack for Sam and I getting ready. It …
Feel worn out today. Cheered-up slightly by our blackbird neighbour who was on top form when I left singing a much livelier and elaborate tune than yesterday. My train is also a different one today; it’s the one the the half-height seats which always amuses me (who knows why). Heater is on full blast though & I forgot to top up my water so not so happy on the hydration front. …
I have just done my 5k erg test. I truely hate them. It’s done, it was ok, feel rubbish now though. Just want to rest and go to sleep now though. It’s been a tiring week, it really has. …
There is a small blackbird that lives in the tree in my neighbours front garden. He has built a little nest ready for when he finds a lady blackbird and he spends the whole morning singing away. Now that it is lighter when I leave, he is already up and about, singing his morning song. It’s such a lovely thing to hear as I head off to work. There is something wonderfully pure about a little bird singing that makes …
I’m quite fed-up of feeling tired. I’m also quite fed-up of feeling stressed. I seem to feel that way far more than I should. Or is that the common thing amongst young people who have a job and a demanding hobby and family and friends? Perhaps it is – many if my commuter friends are often tired or else get home and do nothing. I do wonder what it will be like when I move to my new team. I …
It wasn’t quite pitch black when cycling to the station just now. It was nice; the feeling that spring is almost here makes one feel slightly more optimistic about things. Ultimately though, it doesn’t help shake the feeling of continual tiredness I seen to have. There are times when burying your head under the quilt and refusing to get up is so tempting. If the UK did ‘duvet days’, I would have used all mine for 2011 by now! On …
I’m trying to motivate myself to get changed for rowing. I want to go to rowing. But I’m weary from the day and it’s chilly and my eyes are sore. I need to put my contacts back in though and I will be late if I don’t move right now. Better move I s’pose! …
