Six days on from the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, I am still feeling their absence as are much of the British population. It has also been an inspiring end to the Olympics week 1 full-stop for team GB. The Team GB Rowing Squad have had the best Olympic result ever with a total of 9 medals being won! The finally tally was 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze (breakdown here) which a fantastic result and 3 medals up on Beijing. I couldn’t let today’s events pass without a brief blog post because today the amazing happened: Helen Glover and Heather Stanning won an Olympic Gold in the Pair. Not only did they win, but they won with clear water. Clear water is amazing in any race but in an Olympic final is just phenomenal. It was also the first Gold for Team GB full-stop.
