2015 was the year of Maternity Leave. I finished work in December 2014 with over a year to focus solely on becoming a mother and all that entails. But now, suddenly, I find myself 16 days away from being back in the office and that’s both daunting and exciting in equal measure. It’s also another big point of change in my life just after I had got settled in to a routine – from next week H starts nursery three days a week.
Whilst I have enjoyed being at home, I have also missed being in the adult world of work so it will be nice to get back. Although I’m not the same person going back; 2015 changed me not least because whenever I go anywhere without H now I’m leaving a little part of me behind. It will be interesting to see how I thrive back in the world of work with the extra demands and ties back at home.
Over the next few days I am going to compile a couple of posts on this topic:
- Top X* reasons why I’m looking forward to going back to work;
- Top Y* reasons why I am anxious about going back to work.
So stay tuned!
(<i>*X and Y are, for those of you not a Mathematical inclination, variables to be determined when I actually write the posts!</i>)
