I learnt to play golf today – real, proper, Tiger Woods stylee golf.  Okay, well the Tiger Woods thing might be a slight exaggeration, but I did attempt the same sport as him.  Sam, Sophie and I headed over to an amateur golf session over in Berkshire.  It was VERY windy which made is even more challenging, but it was actually quite good fun.

We started off doing a 45 minute session on chipping and putting.  We then did 45 minutes on driving.  After a (rather large) lunch in the club house, we headed off to play 6 holes on the actual course.  Apparently it is rare for novices to be let near real holes so early!  We went off in the last group and it was difficult.  But, we did improve and I managed to drive a ball almost 75 – 100 yards.  I don’t think it’s something I will take up as a common pursuit.  But, it has gained a bit more respect in my eyes and was a good day!
