I won again!!

It was St Neot’s Summer Regatta on Saturday and Lou, Claire, Ruth, Sarah and I were racing in WIM3.4+. Anyway, we WON!! Pot number two – come on!

So, we had the rubbishy end of the draw – most people only had one heat but us and Milton Keynes had to do another heat first. We thought MK would be tough because they beat us in Bedford. The race was really hard but we just popped them to the post. Anyway the next race was against Peterborough who, in all honesty looked quite weedy. Looks can of course be deceiving but we thrashed them. The semis had us meeting Barnes Bridge Ladies. They should have raced a heat but their opposition had swine flu so they got a bye straight to the semis. As they came near the start, you could hear their cox telling them “They’ve raced twice so will be tired – you can take them”. Hahaha, we had them off the start and beat them by over a length! Eventually (after 7 hours waiting) final time arrived and we met Leeds RC at the start. Again, took them off the start and beat them ‘easily’!! Perhaps my step by step overview is a tad excessive, but it was as perfect a regatta as I will probably ever have so I have to remember it!
