London 2012 sees the first ever Women’s Olympic Gold

I couldn’t let today’s events pass without a brief blog post because today the amazing happened: Helen Glover and Heather Stanning won an Olympic Gold in the Pair. Not only did they win, but they won with clear water. Clear water is amazing in any race but in an Olympic final is just phenomenal. It was also the first Gold for Team GB full-stop.

So, a massive congratulations to them both. They are a massive inspiration to female rowers across the country. That race is something we will all need to bear in mind next time we want to just stop when the pain becomes too much!
