Yes, in my head, I was sort of singing that to the tune of the infamous ‘Return of the Mack’ by Mark Morrison (still available to buy from 7digital, lyrics here for your own amusement). But, I shall not go off down that road, what I meant to write about was far more serious and normal: I am back on my erg. Woohoo!
So, who would have thought a day would have come where I was cheering about being back on my erg? Certainly not me. Nor would I have thought there was a time where doing 1k was an achievement. But with this arm, I am taking what I can get and last Sunday I plodded through 1k, working up the slide and then back down. I have used it twice more since then, once to do a light 5 mins and today to do a whole 10 mins (covering a whopping 1500m!).
In all seriousness though, I am hoping that I am going to see my arm return to near-normal soon. It will take a long time to fully recover, but I got the green light from the physio on Monday to start on light weights to get it used to doing normal things again. My current goal is to try getting back in the boat two weeks today. I shall have to frequent the erg daily I feel!
