Five Favourite Finds #11

FiveFavouriteFindsEvery month I share my ‘Five Favourite Finds’ for the month. They can be absolutely anything new that I have come across. The challenge: making sure I find five each month. Some months really do prove tougher than others but there is lots of fun had in the search. I’m using it to try encourage myself to find new things and also share my finds with you all to save you the leg work! So without further ado and in no particular order…

One: Handmade black vase

I don’t really get bought flowers that often. I usually have one bunch on the go at any given time, so my two vases usually cover all bases. However, I happened to be using my wide-necked vase when I received my Mother’s Day bouquet from my sister. Whilst we were in Asda I came across this lovely black, handmade vase (there was also a clear one) for only £8. Bargain! Not too big but holds a large bouquet and feels really sturdy.

Two: Gail’s Hot Cross Buns

My sister brought us some when she came for a quick visit. Oh. My. Goodness. They are the best hot cross buns I have ever had. They are full of fruit, including cranberries, and have a delicious crunchy glaze. Unfortunately Gail’s Bakeries are only in London, but if you pass by when in the capital go and buy!

Three: Anemone Harmony Orchid

I think previous blog posts (including those in this series) will show I love plants of all kinds. My daffodils on the front step were going over so I needed something new to add colour. We went to the local garden centre last weekend and this caught my eye. It’s so beautiful. The potting instructions are for the ground but it does mention putting it in a pot, so I have planted it in a large one. If it looks like it’s struggling I’ll transfer it to the bed but for now it has brought spring to the front of our house!

Four: Indi Adapt Balance Bike

I mentioned in my most recent ‘What Little H did’ that we bought her a balance bike as a belated birthday present. Typically we research things to within an inch of their life but this was a spur of the moment purchase. We popped into our local Halfords and this Indi Adapt Balance Bike was on an offer at only £25. Little H tried it in the shop and loved it. It also came with a pack of stickers so children can decorate it themselves. (Sam has put her name on the side but we’ve not let her loose else it will end up plastered!) She’s used it out and about for a few weeks now and so far we’re all really please with it.

Five: M&S Dinosaur pyjamas

Little H is quite tall for her age. Even though she’s only 26 months, her 2-3 year old PJs are getting a bit short and her little belly is always hanging out as she runs around. So I went looking for some longer 3-4 year pyjamas. When I spotted these I just had to get them! Little H loves them and insisted on wearing the PJ bottoms in the afternoon following her nap… Toddlers.
