Every month I share my ‘Five Favourite Finds’ for the month. They can be absolutely anything new that I have come across. The challenge: making sure I find five each month. Some months really do prove tougher than others but there is lots of fun had in the search. I’m using it to try encourage myself to find new things and also share my finds with you all to save you the leg work! So without further ado and in no particular order…
One: Ornamental Cabbage
I love ornamental cabbages. I’ve seen them in decorative gardens and also received a bouquet of flowers with them in. But over the years it never occurred to me that I could get them for my own garden! On a recent trip to the garden centre to buy some chrysanthemums, I spotted them and decided to get one for the garden. It’s planted out in one of my flower beds now and so far so good. I may need to get more!
Two: Peppa Meets the Queen
A couple of weeks ago I had a Saturday ‘off’ in London with my oldest friends. We went and looked round Buckingham Palace in the morning and ended our visit at the gift shop. I don’t normally buy things from gift shops but I thought I’d get something for H. I bought her a Queen’s Guard Bear but I also spied this Peppa Pig book! H is a big fan and loves the book. Although it’s a soft cover so has suffered a couple of bends and has currently been put in the ‘only to be read with Mummy or Daddy’ pile…
Three: Paper Mate replay premium pen
When I started my Bullet Journal, finding the right pen was key. I chanced this this Paper Mate pen and have not been disappointed. It’s a gel pen and has a really nice writing style. But the best part is that it’s erasable!
Four: F&F jumper and tunic
H is on the cusp of needing 2-3 year old clothes. With the seasons also changing she now needs some longer sleeved tops. So I decided to bump her up an age range now rather than waste money on clothes that will last 1 – 2 months max. I get a lot of her clothes from the supermarket ranges because they aren’t too expensive. We usually go to Sainsbury’s as there is one in town. But we popped to Tesco to look at their F&F range to just get some different styles. This jumper and tunic really caught my eye. They were both a little more than I would usually pay for single pieces (about £7 each…yes I’m Northern and don’t like spending much!) but given they should last her the whole winter I decided they were worth it. H has worn them both and I love them on her!
Five: Fisher Price Wobble Toddle Ride-On
We bought H this Fisher Price walker for Christmas. She used it for a couple of months then learnt to walk. So it was relegated to an infrequently used garden toy. A few weeks ago she learnt to drive the kiddy cars at playgroup. I mentioned to Sam we should get her a car when suddenly I remembered…her walker converts to a car! She now loves driving around the house playing her little steering wheel tunes. So glad I remembered it became a car!
