I have kept a Gratitude Journal since the start of 2016. Over that year it made a MASSIVE difference to my mental attitude; I now more naturally see the positive in things. My blog is a place to share thoughts and opinions. But more than that, it’s a place I record life so I can look back in the future and remember how things were. Whilst I will always have my private journals, I also decided to take a leaf out the books of other bloggers and create a monthly gratitude feature.
This month has been another challenging one with yet more illness and various breakages costing us money (including the microwave, the handheld hoover and, worst of all, the 16 month old BOILER, argh!). So focusing on the little things really has been necessary. Here’s what I am grateful for this month:
•• I finally bought a yoga dvd so I can practice yoga at home. Not only that but due to some damage to the box in transit (the delivery guy threw it into our back garden because we were out!), Amazon refunded me the money!
•• Little H and I baked together for the first time. We made some sugar-free flapjacks which she quite enjoyed making and definitely enjoyed eating.
•• Whilst Little H got the chicken pox, she dealt with it like a trooper is and is now all better. Plus that means it’s now done and we don’t have to watch out for it in the future!
•• When Little H was playing in the garden during her chicken pox quarantine, I got some weeding done.
•• Sam’s parents came over and brought their chain saw. They cut out a magnolia that was dominating the flower bed. They also cut down a couple of shrubs that had grown far too tall.
•• Little H was contented sitting in her buggy for some fresh air whilst she was poorly, so we got some lovely long walks in, which we haven’t done for ages.
•• The slide we bought for Little H last summer is now getting full use. It also proved a life saver when I couldn’t take her to the park because of The Pox!
•• Series 1 & 2 of ‘Peppa Pig’ on Netflix was a godsend during quarantine. It was often the only thing that kept her calm so it was on the in the background very regularly.
•• We had our new windows and eaves fitted. They look really smart and it’s nice to have finished off all the windows after starting them last year.
•• Spring is definitely here with all the blossoms coming out. It really brightens my mood to see all the green buds and colours flowers. Where we live has patches of stunning crocuses everywhere which are a delight!
