I have kept a Gratitude Journal since the start of 2016. Over that year it made a MASSIVE difference to my mental attitude; I now more naturally see the positive in things. My blog is a place to share thoughts and opinions. But more than that, it’s a place I record life so I can look back in the future and remember how things were. Whilst I will always have my private journals, I also decided to take a leaf out the books of other bloggers and create a monthly gratitude feature. Here’s what I am grateful for this month:
•• We had a lovely trip to Whipsnade zoo with Sam’s parents as a belated presents for Nana Watling’s birthday.
•• Our new next-door-but-one neighbours have moved in and are both quiet and very friendly. They have made the effort to chat to everyone and always say hello. They also took in my Amazon delivery!
•• Sam did a pairs time trial race with his cycling club. Little H and I went along afterwards to meet his cycling buddies. It was really nice to meet them and Sam really appreciated us going along. Plus there was a park nearby so H did some climbing & sliding!
•• We had a lovely long-weekend break to Center Parcs with the in-laws. After lots of dubious weather, we had a mainly dry and pleasantly sunny time. Not too hot. Not too cold. Just right!
•• Whilst we were at Center Parcs, I got time on both Saturday and Sunday to just sit quietly on my own and just write. It was delightful!
•• I did the Segway Experience with Sam’s parents whilst at Center Parcs. I haven’t done it since we were in the Lakes years ago and it was awesome fun.
•• Sam and I went mountain biking together since we had baby sitters. It was nice to do some sport together as we used to cycle more regularly pre-Little H.
•• We also used our baby sitters so we could go out for a relaxed dinner together.
•• Little H got to do so many fun activities at Center Parcs: playing on the beach, going to a Mucky Pups session, swimming, holding owls and exploring the newly extended play park amongst other things.
•• To celebrate the second birthday of my friend’s son, we met for lunch in Hertford because we’d had such a successful one in February. We didn’t think our luck would repeat a second time (and this time there was a newborn present too) but it did and we had a lovely lunch that flew by far too quickly!
