I think everyone must have a limit at which they go in to ‘self-preservation’ mode. I have been feeling more and more drained by everything recently, with so much to do. Today, again, I am feeling really run-down and I think I am actually fighting a cold this time. Lots of people in the office have it so I really wouldn’t be surprised.

Anyway, my usual approach to handling illness alongside training is to, err, just carry on training. On very rare occasions, I have cut down, despite expert advice from Lou and Anne-Marie. However, right now, I feel so worn out by everything going on, I think I am going to pass on all erg based training tonight. I can cope with a bit of ab work I think, but I just need a rest! Hmm, perhaps some light pilates…
