I wish it would get a bit warmer, and a bit sunnier too. It’s always so cold at the moment, it’s really quite depressing. After last weeks snow issues, Monday then brough excessive rain which resulted in floods. The rain was freezing though (so training was NOT that fun) and it got all icey again. It’s very draining – by the time you get home you feel really battered by the cold. Britain isn’t quite kitted out for it to be this cold for so long – nobody owns enough thick woolly jumpers, walking boots or big puffa/ski jackets!
The worst side-affect of the weather is that everyone is either ill or feeling like they’re fighting something off. I have spent the last week probably feeling really sluggish. My body seems to be really struggling to recover from any training I do and no matter how much sleep I get, I always wake-up feeling tired and groggy. Hopefully it will pass soon – preferably by the weekend since I have to do a particularly long race on Sunday which I am not looking forward to, even if I’m on top form!
