When I first starting writing these posts back in 2009 (ooh, this year is the tenth anniversary then!) I used to bosh them out in a hurry during the last couple of days of the year. Becoming a parent put and end to that so now I try to get them drafted up across the course of December. So I’m here on the 9th December starting to put fingers to keys are reflect back on the last 12 months of …

As I started to write this, I looked back on my previous post. I was astonished to read it because it feels like that was all a lifetime ago and you’ve changed so incredibly since then. You are still such an incredibly fun and happy little girl. It is rare for you not to be full of laughter and smiles. And now you’re transitioning into toddlerhood, you’re also developing that cheeky and testing streak. I won’t lie, at times it …
In late 2018 Sam I discussed going abroad for our 2019 family holiday. Little H starting school in September means this would be our last opportunity before needing to pay crazy school holiday prices. But Christmas came and went. Then I started back at work. Yet still nothing got booked. One evening over dinner Sam suddenly mentioned that he wasn’t sure he could be bothered with a holiday overseas. I sighed with relief – on top of everything else going …
Little H, we’ve had an awesome month doing on lots of fun activities. You have astounded me yet again by developing every day. I swear you spend more time telling me what to do than the other way round! You’ve also been testing me again so mummy has had to develop her ‘Patience’ super strength even further. But I have loved every minute of it. Well, almost 😉 …

My blog is a place to share thoughts and opinions. But more than that, it’s a place I record life so I can look back in the future and remember how things were. Whilst I will always have my private journals, I also decided to take a leaf …
As 2011 reached it’s end, I decided to write an end of year post which reflected back on the highs and lows of the last 12 months. Since then, it has become a personal tradition to write and publish my “That was the year that was” post on 31 December every year. More than anything, this post is a personal opportunity to look back as a year a draws to a close. 2016 has been another life changing year with …
Last weekend we went on a long weekend break with the in-laws to the Woburn Forest Center Parcs near Bedford. Living in Hertfordshire, it was a wonderfully convenient 40 minute journey. So we loaded up the car after H had her nap and lunch so that we arrived shortly after the 3pm lodge arrival time. (Although if you can go from 10am to use the pool and other facilities.) The Lodge Our lodge …
