Top tips for moving house with a baby

Two weeks ago most of our possessions were in boxes and the rest were haphazardly strewn around after being loaded in to a big truck (I didn’t think we had enough to fill it, but apparently we did!) having moved from our house of 8 years to our new family home. We are now pretty well settled in and it’s already feeling like home, but it’s been a hectic and tiring fortnight. Moving is difficult at the best of times,

Weaning is tough work but sleeping-through is in sight!

We’ve been weaning for about a month now and it’s going well I think. H is now on three meals a day plus a mid-morning yoghurt and fruit snack. She has dropped down her milk feeds so she is only really having a morning, mid-afternoon and bedtime milk feed. Despite this, the amount she eats is really quite phenomenal given her size. Today she ate: 7am: Milk feed 8am: Ready Brek with apple puree and two buttered toast sticks (no

A routine not to be disrupted

I have mentioned in an earlier blog post (I really am busy, honestly I am) that although it might seem I just go out and about on strolls and for afternoon cake in town, looking after H is in fact a lot of work. What’s wrong?!

One of the hardest things to deal with H is when she is crying because something is wrong. Mainly because it’s almost impossible to tell what is actually making her cry. On a good day it can just be frustrating for me (and Sam if he’s at home) whilst on a bad day it can actually completely distressing. Of course every parent experiences this so I am well aware this is part of the course. This is one of the

I really am busy, honestly I am

Unless you have ever experienced looking after a young baby, it would be easy to assume from the outside that whilst nights are sleepless, days are just filled with cafe trips and strolling around pushing a pram. Now, admittedly, I do do those things on a regular basis. However, fitting them in to my day is much harder than it seems. The reason…H. Every day, for almost the entire day (well between approximately 7am and 7pm) whatever I want to
