The chicken pox diaries, part I

Day 0 Little H is splashing around in the bath after a busy day at nursery. I come in to get her out and my Mum-Senses are immediately drawn to some spots on her shoulders, lower tummy and back. Much to her annoyance I proceed to examine them. I’ve convinced myself Little H has chicken pox on several occasions that turned out to be nothing. This time though, my instincts tell me this was the real deal. Without a doubt

30 Days Blogging – Day 14: Films that I love, love, love!

Films are a huge deal in Casa Watling. Sam is an avid fan and we have a pretty large collection. We fully intend to get Little H similarly hooked. When I spotted this topic on the 30 Days Blogging Challenge list, I was quite excited. But in reality it was hard to come up with a finite list. I know there are films I love which I’ve forgotten too! However, whatever my mood, I could happily watch at least one

A quick trip to Hogwarts…

A few weeks ago, Sam and I went to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour to see the Making of Harry Potter exhibition.  I make no secret of the fact I am a massive Harry Potter fan: I have all of the books (including the first 5 en Español), all of the films and even a few frames one of the original ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’ film reels.  So, I was quite excited about seeing the original sets and props!

Poor Buzz has been switched to Spanish Mode and for a few precious minutes, some of my most favourite moments in film history take place. Blog Post 13-03-2011

Following slightly from my blog post earlier today, Sam and I watched ‘The Making of The Social Network’ on the special features disc.  It was really interesting actually – one of the better special features programmes I have seen.  It is amazing the attention to detail that went in to portraying that film.  If you’ve seen the film, it’s worth a watch.  If you haven’t seen the film, watch the film.

Blog Post 13-02-2011

How has the weekend ended already?!  It has all gone far too quickly.  Sam said to me earlier that we should do more things of a weekday evening so that we aren’t just waiting for the weekend.  But it’s not just that, the week comes with such an admin overhead.  But I suppose that is life! I have had a busy day today doing various bits and bobs.  I have been on-call so couldn’t really go out.  I took the

Blog Post 23-01-2011

I’m not even 30 yet but I can no longer handle nights out at all!  We met our sisters in town last night for dinner and drinks.  By 10:30pm, I was yawning away.  Albeit i had been awake since 6:45 because of rowing, but still, we had enjoyed a few cocktails which usually wake one up with the sugar and alcohol content!  Anyway, we were in bed by 12:30am (we stayed at some special hotel for Sam’s work it town!)
